Morgan Kinross-Wright is the new Executive Director of Corporate and Alumni Relations at the Carlson School.

She says her new job is “all about building and strengthening relationships and partnerships,” which is what she loves to do.

She will continue building on the strong history of alumni engagement with the school. “We have some of the most engaged and energized alumni—Minnesota pride is deep,” she says. “The Carlson School is a really powerful name in the Twin Cities. However, how do we spread the word outside of our region so that the Carlson School name and the University of Minnesota are recognized nationally and internationally? That is one question that is helping drive our efforts with our alumni. We have to stay strong locally as well as extend our reach nationally and internationally.”

Corporate relations dovetails nicely with alumni relations, as many of the Carlson School’s points of intersection with companies have been driven by its alumni, she says. Hiring, faculty research partnerships, global corporate engagement, and executive education are all examples of how the Carlson School can partner with companies here and across the world. Alumni are often the connections to those companies.

“We have both broad and deep relationships with many companies at the Carlson School,” she says. “We are so fortunate for the robust business, entrepreneurial, and nonprofit community we have.”

Kinross-Wright served as the director of the Undergraduate Business Career Center (UBCC) for the past eight years. Under her leadership, UBCC was consistently ranked A/A+ by students in the BusinessWeek rankings and named to the top 10 schools in the country for student placement services. Previously, she served as associate director of the school’s corporate services function from 2003 to 2005.
